Japan’s deputy PM to visit China next month

So maybe there is hope for diplomacy.

Japan plans to send Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso to China to meet the recently installed President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang next month, according to the Straits Times.

Key quote: “Officials in both countries, which are embroiled in a tense territorial stand-off over a group of islands in the East China Sea, have begun coordinating the visit.”
