China’s new map that is causing jitters through the region. It basically extends the area of contiguous China’s territory straight down to the very beaches of its South East Asian neighbors. More significantly, rather than a cutaway box to fit the whole country, there is now one uninterrupted map. This sends a signal in the battle for perceptions of ownership in the region.
