Chinese media’s observations on the NRA’s defense of the guns. The takeaway from The Global Times:

Debating is certainly an indispensable skill in a democratic society where different opinions are valued and where only the most persuasive get their way. But when the techniques and tactics of debating overtake logic and any sense of truth, debating may no longer strengthen democracy but weaken it, as is happening in the US.

The US should get used to more of this kind of scrutiny in the global sphere. I hope the patriots over at the NRA know that in this globalized message competition, guns will do them very little good. US massacres no longer occur inside this bubble called the “United States of America.” They are events that are immediately accessible globally and they either build the case for the American Way or they undermine it.
