For all the speculation on Yevgeny Prigozhin’s ‘Telegram Mutiny’, one angle remains unexplored: he never meant it to go so far.

It’s possible Prigozhin was lured by the powerful feedback loop of outrage he himself created on social media.

With no barrier of speech on a social media platform, Prigozhin’s narrative momentum grew.

And how things fared for the Kremlin on Telegram said a lot for how things were going for Putin.

Prigozhin’s march also echoed a trend we’ve seen elsewhere in the annals of protest in the era of social media.
